Radical honesty

What Sociano can't do yet.

Social platforms change constantly, and no tool that tames them is ever finished. We'd rather tell you what's limited upfront than let you find out mid-scroll. Here's the current list — what's limited, why, and what to do about it.

Not built yet

Notifications aren't available yet

You won't get social notifications through Sociano yet. Neither native push nor web push is wired up — it's actively being built.

Workaround

Open Sociano on your own schedule — many people find that checking DMs a couple of times a day beats being pinged all day. If you truly can't miss a message, keep the platform's own notifications on for now.

Limited

Some native-only features are limited

Sociano opens platforms as controlled web experiences instead of modifying other apps. That's exactly what makes it private and App Store-safe — but the web versions of some platforms lack a few native-only features, like certain story interactions and some creation tools.

Workaround

Take a temporary content break, do the thing in the native app, and come back to the calmer session.

Varies

Platform behavior varies

Instagram and YouTube have the strongest support today. Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit and X are also included, with behavior improving over time. And platforms sometimes change their sites without warning — when that happens, a rule can break for a day or two.

Workaround

Force-quit Sociano and reopen it. If something still looks wrong, email contact@sociano.app with the platform and a screenshot so the rules can be adjusted.

Partly limited

Rich posting flows live in the native apps

Everyday posting works. But creating Reels or stories with music, stickers and effects is best done in the native app — platforms keep their richest creation tools native-only.

Workaround

A temporary content break lets you use the native app briefly for exactly this, then return to your controlled session.

iPhone only

iPhone only, today

Sociano is an iPhone app. There's no Android, iPad-optimized or desktop version yet — it's built by one person, and building one platform properly beats building three halfway.

Workaround

There isn't one, honestly. If you'd use Sociano on another platform, email contact@sociano.app — it genuinely helps decide what gets built next.

Why we publish this

Most apps hide this page. We lead with it.

A tool that promises to protect your attention has to be honest with you, or it's just another thing competing for it. We'd rather you know exactly what you're getting before you download — and hear about the rough edges from us, not from a one-star review.

Wondering whether the whole thing is trustworthy in the first place? We wrote that up too: Is Sociano legit? →
