FAQ
Questions, answered.
The short version of everything people ask before switching to a quieter phone.
Getting started
What is Sociano?▼
Sociano is a calmer way to use the social apps you already have. It opens platforms like Instagram and YouTube in controlled in-app views, keeps your DMs, search, posting and profiles — and quietly reduces Reels, Shorts, Explore pages and algorithmic feeds.
Which devices are supported?▼
Sociano is available on iPhone today. There’s no Android or desktop version yet — iPhone is the only supported device right now.
How long does setup take?▼
Under a minute. Download Sociano from the App Store, sign in to a platform through its official login, and you’re set. You can fine-tune per-platform rules whenever you like.
Do I need to quit social media or delete my apps?▼
No. Sociano is for people who still need social access but want tighter control over the parts that pull them into automatic scrolling. It works alongside the apps you already have — nothing migrates and nothing breaks. If you want stronger protection, you can optionally block native apps through Apple Screen Time.
How it works
What does Sociano remove?▼
Sociano opens supported platforms in controlled in-app web views and applies your rules during the session. Distracting routes such as Reels, Shorts, Explore-style pages, algorithmic feeds, autoplay and infinite recommendations can be reduced — while you stay logged in. Sociano never modifies other apps.
What stays?▼
Everything you actually came for — DMs, search, posting, profiles and intentional browsing — stays available. The point is to keep useful flows while reducing distracting surfaces.
Which apps work best right now?▼
Instagram and YouTube have the strongest support today. Facebook, LinkedIn, Reddit and X are also included, with platform behavior improving over time.
Why do some features differ from the native apps?▼
Sociano uses controlled web experiences instead of modifying official native apps directly. That approach is more private and App Store-safe, but some native-only features can be limited.
Will other people notice?▼
No. You message, post and interact through your normal accounts, so there’s nothing different on anyone else’s end.
Why can friend-sent Reels still open?▼
Sociano prioritizes communication. If someone sends a Reel in DMs, you can watch that direct item, while Sociano works to prevent the follow-on infinite-scroll chain.
Accounts & sign-in
How do I sign in to my accounts?▼
Through each platform’s official sign-in, just like a browser. Sociano never sees or stores your social passwords, DMs, posts or private account content.
Can I use multiple Instagram accounts?▼
Yes. Sociano supports switching between multiple Instagram accounts, similar to the normal Instagram app.
How do I log out of social accounts inside Sociano?▼
Go to Settings, then Clear App Data. This clears sign-in sessions and website data globally or for a selected platform.
Can I hide apps I don’t use?▼
Yes. In Settings, you can choose which platforms appear on your Sociano home screen.
I’m having login issues. What usually causes that?▼
Login problems are usually caused by platform security checks, two-factor authentication, expired sessions, or account verification prompts. Try force quitting Sociano, signing out and back in, resetting your password, or using another verification method on the platform.
Privacy & data
Do you sell my data?▼
Never. There are no ads and nothing for sale. Sociano doesn’t build a behavioral profile of you for ads — it keeps only anonymous crash and usage diagnostics so bugs get fixed.
Does Sociano track what I watch or type?▼
No. Sociano is designed to minimize data collection. It does not track your DMs, passwords, posts, watched content, typing or browsing inside social platforms.
Where does my activity live?▼
Your social sessions live on your device, like a browser. Sociano doesn’t have access to your social passwords, and your in-platform activity stays between you and the platform.
Can I delete my account and data?▼
Yes, anytime from inside the app. Deleting your account removes your Sociano account data. See our privacy page for the details.
Pricing & billing
How much does Sociano cost?▼
Sociano is free to download on iPhone. Advanced controls are part of Sociano Pro, an optional subscription billed through the App Store.
How do I restore my purchase?▼
Open Sociano Settings and use Restore Purchases. This syncs your App Store subscription status with your signed-in Sociano account.
How do I cancel my subscription?▼
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open iPhone Settings, tap your Apple ID, choose Subscriptions, then select Sociano. You can also use Apple’s subscription management page.
Can I get a refund?▼
Refunds are handled by Apple, because App Store billing is the merchant of record. Use reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with the Apple ID used for the purchase.
Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?▼
No. Deleting your Sociano account removes your account and signs you out, but App Store subscriptions continue through Apple unless you cancel them in Apple’s subscription settings.
