Two philosophies
Opal's premise is that access is the problem. It sits at the system level, wraps your chosen apps in scheduled focus sessions, and its “deep focus” modes are deliberately hard to bypass — that difficulty is the product, and Opal does it about as well as anything on iPhone. When Instagram is blocked, it is blocked: no negotiating, no Ignore Limit tap.
Sociano's premise is that the surface is the problem.
